Taylor Swift’s black-and-white music video “Fortnight” featuring Post Malone won video of the year, the top honor at MTV’s annual Video Music Awards, on Wednesday (September 11).
The “Fortnight” video was released in April to accompany the first single from Swift’s album “The Tortured Poets Department”, and shows Swift inside a bleak hospital, a setting she said reflected what she was seeing in her head as she wrote the “Tortured Poets” songs.
Other winners of the evening included Sabrina Carpenter for best song and Chappell Roan for best new artist.
In her acceptance speech, Swift remarked on her boyfriend, footballer Travis Kelce’s support during the filming of the video. Earlier in the evening, the artist also took the opportunity to remember the victims of 9/11 in New York on the 23rd anniversary of the attacks.
